During the summer, there will be no junior choir, Sunday school or adult Bible class.Food distributionThe Summit Hill Food Pantry distributes food items to those who qualify in town on the fourth Tuesday of the month.For information about the Summit Hill Food Pantry, call Rose Marie Armon, (570) 645-3604 or Sandra Hill, 645-4617.St. Gabe's processionMembers of the St. Gabriel's Club, Summit Hill, will revive an old tradition in Summit Hill in conjunction with the St. Joseph Parish Festival that is scheduled for the weekend of July 16-18.Members will hold a procession in honor of St. Gabriel, for whom the Italian-American Society is named.The procession will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 18.Members will process with the statue of St. Gabriel through the west end of town, along with the children from the parish's First Communion class.Parishioners and friends are invited to join in the procession, followed with the placement of the statue and benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament.This time-honored tradition is aimed at reminding participants and viewers of the Italian heritage.
