The Lewistown Valley Garden Club held its June meeting at the social hall of Zion's Church, with President June Leiby in charge of the business session. Guest speaker was Kenny Fetherolf of Forget Me Not Florist at Pioneer Evergreen Farms.

Fetherolf introduced club members to the latest styles in bridal bouquets and wedding flowers, as well as traditional arrangements. He provided tips on choosing floral materials, bouquet sizes and flowers that last longest out of water. Each member in attendance was presented with a fresh flower.A discussion was held concerning the Schuylkill County Fair, which will be held Aug. 2-7. Several members will be entering floral arrangements in competition, with judging to be held on July 31.The arrangement for the evening was bridal bouquets, with Evelyn Adams awarded first place and Mary Bridygham earning second place. The specimen was a rose, with Linda Leiby earning first place and Evelyn Adams taking second lace.The meeting ended with a light luncheon, provided by Evelyn Adams and Kathy McGee.The next meeting, which will include the annual picnic, will be held July 27 at Leiby's Grove. Members were reminded to bring a covered dish to share and individual utensils.Zion LewistownThe Rev. Sunny Stock will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Zion Church in the Lewistown Valley. The service will include a children's sermon and children's church. Sunday school classes will be held at 9:30 a.m.An old fashioned picnic is being planned for July 24, from 4-8 p.m., on the church grounds. Brian Reading will officiate at this Sunday's 10:25 a.m. worship service. Nursery care is available. The service will include Holy Communion.
