The Tamaqua Area Adult Day Care Center offers participants daily exercise, reality orientation, remotivational and reminiscent therapy, as well as breakfast, lunch and a snack.Additional activities planned for the month of July include: July 7, craft day; July 8, sing-along with Audrey Christ and bingo games; July 13, craft and bake sale; July 14; worship service; July 21, visit from the foot doctor; July 22, monthly birthday party; July 26, cooking class; July 28, trip to the Pioneer Tunnel.In addition to weekly sing-alongs and social games, hairstyling and manicure services are available. Both require advance notice.Anyone interested in obtaining more information about the center and its services may call (570) 668-6577.RecyclingWednesday is the day for curbside recycling pickup for all residents of Tamaqua.All recyclable items must be placed in the containers issued to each borough household. Any other containers, such as plastic bags and cardboard boxes, will be emptied and left behind.Recyclable items include glass, aluminum, non-ferrous metals and No. 1 and No. 2 plastics.Anyone who needs a recycling container may contact borough hall at (570) 668-3444.A trailer for newspapers can be found at the Tamaqua Borough Garage on East Broad Street. Additional collection bins may also be found at the Tamaqua Transfer Station on Sewage Treatment Plant Road.Girl ScoutsGirl Scouts in the heart of Pennsylvania will hold a registration night, for their summer program on July 8, at St. John United Church of Christ.
