St. Gabe's processionMembers of the St. Gabriel's Club, Summit Hill, will revive an old tradition in Summit Hill in conjunction with the St. Joseph Parish Festival that is scheduled for the weekend of July 16-18.Members will hold a procession in honor of St. Gabriel, for whom the Italian-American Society is named.The procession will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 18. Members will process with the statue of St. Gabriel through the west end of town, along with the children from the parish's First Communion class.Parishioners and friends are invited to join in the procession, followed with the placement of the statue and benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament. This time-honored tradition is aimed at reminding participants and viewers of the Italian heritage.VBS is plannedThe community Vacation Bible School will be held Monday through Friday, July 26-30, at the Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill.Sessions are scheduled from 9-11:30 a.m. All children from the Panther Valley area, ages 4-12, are welcome to attend.Scripture sharingThe weekly scripture sharing sessions at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, will be held on Thursday, July 1, at 7 p.m. The sessions are held in the parish rectory.Little AngelsThe Little Angels Pre-School, which is part of Our Lady of the Angels Academy, is accepting registrations for the 2010-2011 school year. There are openings in the 3-year-old program (Mondays and Fridays) and the 4-year-old program (Tuesday through Thursday, full- or half-days).
