The Tamaqua Senior Citizens group met last week with 76 members in attendance. President Jean Machamer conducted the business session and provided readings.Eleanor Roberts offered the invocation, entitled "What Makes A Dad." Secretary Eleanor Schmerfeld provided her weekly report.The next meeting will be held June 24, at 1 p.m., at the Tamaqua Community Center, located to the rear of Boyer's Food Mart.Anyone 55 or older is welcome to join.First MethodistThe Rev. James Cavellero will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. service in First United Methodist Church this Sunday.The Quilters continue to meet every Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.The Second Annual Summer Film Festival at First UM will begin June 27 with a presentation of the "Bells of St. Mary's." A total of four films will be presented: "Amazing Grace" on July 25; "The Ultimate Gift" on Aug. 22; and "Because of Winn Dixie" on Sept. 12.
