Attendance totaled 133 firefighters from throughout Carbon County at the 29th annual Carbon County Fire School held at Baer Memorial drill field in Lehighton. Wane Nothstein, one of the school's coordinators, said the attendance included nine females. There were 20 classes ranging from air packs, firefighting basics, fighting structure fires, and evacuation and rescue procedures. Temperatures for both days of the two-day event were in the upper 80s.
