Comedian Steven Wright coming to Penn's Peak

If you enjoy comedians, one of the nation's funniest will be coming to Penn's Peak in June.

Steven Wright, whose CDs are "I Have A Pony" and "I Still Have A Pony," will be bringing his act to the Jim Thorpe venue on Sunday, June 6, at 8 p.m. Tickets go on sale to the public on Saturday but are already available to Sneak Peak Club members.Known for his deadpan delivery, Wright has built up quite a following on his stand up alone.He won an Oscar for his short "The Appointments of Dennis Jennings" (1988).Wright has been featured in two Home Box Office specials and appeared in numerous films, including "Babe, Pig in the City," "Reservoir Dogs," "Natural Born Killers," and "Loser."It's one of two main events at the venue for which tickets go on sale Saturday. The other is An Evening With Asia. This concert is August 5.Wright is one of numerous comedians set to appear at Penn's Peak.Next on the line-up of entertainment at Penn's Peak is "Dr. Dirty" John Valby, which is strictly adult entertainment.Dr. Dirty will be appeaing at the spacious arena this Friday, April 9. The show contains adult language.Another comedian, who will be making a return to Penn's Peak, is Raymond the Amish Comic. Raymond, who also supplies fun for adults, will be there on Saturday, July 10.Just announced is a return by Yonder Mountain String Band on June 4.Also, the second annual Brews on the Mountain event will be held Saturday, April 24.The list of Penn's Peak upcoming concerts is as follows:April• 9 - John Valby, 9 p.m. Tickets $17 advance, $22 day of show. The Temptations will be making an appearance at Penn's Peak on Thursday, September 23. The group is best known for hits such as "My Girl," "Get Ready," and "Just My Imagination." Tickets for the concert are on sale.
