The 4-H Theater Group is producing the play "Cinderella." It will be held at the Lehighton annex building, Third Street (the old school), at 7 p.m., March 20. There is no charge but donated non-perishable food items will be appreciated though not required.

The pathetic-looking girl is, as usual, being pushed around by her stepmother and stepsisters. They plan to go to a dance at the palace and Cinderella has to help them dress.After they leave for the dance, Cinderella says she can't bear never going to a ball.But her fairy godmother helps her get ready to go. There is a stipulation that she has to leave at midnight.With a wave of her godmother's wand a tablecloth turns into a gown. He gives her some dancing slippers which lead Cinderella to say, "I'll have magic feet to dance the night away."She is sent to the garden to get a pumpkin which becomes a coach.As Cinderella is preparing to go to the ball, the chamberlain is telling the prince he has to dance with all the eligible ladies. He sees Cinderella enter the hall and asks her to dance. But the clock strikes midnight and she rushes out.The next day the prince and the chamberlain go to all the houses to see who can wear the slipper that was lost as Cinderella ran out.The stepsisters think they can marry the prince by fitting into the slipper but it will not fit. Cinderella is mentioned and the prince insists she be called. He tries the slipper on her himself.Prince Charming has found his princess.The fairy godmother is played by Noah Smith. Cinderella is Anthony Murano in his everyday life. Prince Charming is played by Aleigh Smith. Other cast members are: stepsister Angela by Diana Livingston, stepsister Minerva by Skylar Cordova, stepmother Leticia by Michael Livingston, and the chamberlain by Kay Livingston.Others who attend the dance are Marley Craig, the youngest cast member; Andrew McReynolds, and Maggie and Russ Murano.
