Money management session scheduled

As hard economic times continue to impact our community, the Carbon County Action Committee is partnering with PNC Bank to provide residents access to financial education and responsible banking services designed to empower residents of all ages as they work to overcome their economic barriers, move toward financial stability and achieve life goals.

The free-of-charge Foundations of Money Management session lasts between 60-90 minutes with room for questions throughout. Topics include: Budgeting (Making the Most of your Money and Meeting Goals), balancing a checkbook, debit and credit cards, preventing banking-related fees, avoiding predatory financial services, savings and investing, credit, loans and identity theft.Carbon County residents interested in attending this free information session should contact Morgan at the Carbon County Action Committee at (610) 377-6400 Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.Each participant will receive a workbook, calculator, pens and other informational material regarding responsible banking options. Light refreshments will be provided. This session is made possible, in part, through the Community Reinvestment Act and an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Community Services Block Grant administered by the Pennsylvania DCED.
