Another attempted Summit Hill break-in

Published January 19. 2010 05:00PM

Someone attempted to gain entry into a Summit Hill home on Sunday evening. A person inside heard someone outside and saw them attempting to turn the door knobs, but they did not call police. The person told another resident, who called police on Monday evening.

The borough, as well as neighboring Lansford, has seen a rash of home and vehicle break-ins in recent weeks.

"Citizens need to be aware that there are people out there attempting to enter homes, and they need to call 911 immediatley if they suspect something or hear anything unusual," said Summit Hill Police Chief Joe Fittos.
