It doesn't matter what season it is or who makes up the Northern Lehigh wrestling team.

That's because each Bulldog, whether a returnee or a newcomer, enters the season with the same goals.According to head coach Todd Herzog, the 2009-10 season will be no different."As with every year, our team goals are always the same," Herzog said. "We train and work hard to improve everyday in the practice room. Our expectation every year is to win championships. As a team, we always set our expectations very high and our wrestlers are willing to work hard to attain their goals."A solid nucleus of returning Bulldog grapplers, along with several others who are looking to break into the lineup, are training hard in the wrestling room in Northern Lehigh High School preparing to make those goals a reality.Returning are seniors Craemer Hedash, who is the lone defending district champion coming back; Josh Caley; Chris Christ; Zach Fleming; and Justin Chamberlain. Joining them will be juniors Colin Hedash, who was the Bulldogs' lone regional champ a year ago; and Nikko Stevens; and sophomores Zane Heller, Dylan Hofmann and Brandon Loch."We have a lot of depth in several weight classes with several experienced wrestlers, we have three state qualifiers (Stevens, Craemer Hedash, Colin Hedash) and two state medalists (both Hedash brothers)," said Herzog.The Bulldogs took a bit of a hit in the middle and heavy weights with the graduation of district champions and state qualifiers Kris Krawchuk and Danny Boyle; regional qualifiers Brandon Olewine and Troy Silfies; and Jonathan Corcoran and Randis Pryor."We lost an outstanding group of seniors which will be difficult to replace in terms of wins and losses," Herzog said. "However, we have a few wrestlers stepping in to fill their slots who are training quite hard in the room."Plus with Colin Hedash (State fourth place) moving up in weight we should be very competitive in the upper weights once again."Other wrestlers to watch this season include seniors Dan Huemmer, Dominic Barone, Hunter Groll; juniors Lucas Dise and Trevor Dottery; sophomores Drayton Budhoo, Kyle Baumann, Kyle Greenawald, as well as freshmen Ty Herzog, Connor Hedash and Ryan Martinez.At this moment, Martinez and Ty Herzog are locked in to battle the competition at 103 and 112 respectively.Dise, Heller and Connor Hedash will be available at 119 and 125, while that trio, along with Kyle Bauman, will look to fill the 130 spot.With room to bump for some of the above-mentioned, Christ remains the option for 135. Stevens and Hofmann are penciled in as possibilities for 140 and 145. Caley is there for 140 and Fleming at 145.Craemer Hedash and Justin Chamberlain will cover the 152-pound weight class while Greenawald, Budhoo and Barone are there for 160.Colin Hedash and Dottery are listed at 171 with Dottery and Groll available at 189.Meanwhile, Huemmer and Loch are set to cover the true heavyweights 215 and 275 respectively.While the majority of those individuals in the heavy weights, as well as some of the middle weights, have some big wrestling shoes to fill, Herzog has his hopes set high on the another good season."As always, we hope to remain injury free throughout the season and hope that our younger wrestlers develop quickly and adapt to a higher level of wrestling to contribute to the team," Herzog said.
