Cody Remaley's been his team's offensive workhorse for the entire season. Friday night in Slatington Remaley was almost his team's entire offense.

The junior back carried the ball on 49 of Northern Lehigh's 65 offensive plays, piling up 277 yards and leading his team to a 21-7 win over Northwestern."It helps not playing defense," he said. "I'm fresh the whole game."Remaley didn't bust a lot of big runs. His longest were 37 yards, 20 yards and a pair for 15 each. Other than that he didn't have a run longer than seven yards. He converted four third downs and three fourth downs all with short runs.The Bulldogs (6-1) controlled the line of scrimmage and Remaley splashed through the holes and into Northwestern's secondary. He liked the wet field conditions."I love playing in this stuff," he said. "We prepared for it [Thursday]. We practiced in that snow and rain and sloppy stuff.""Our strength is running straight ahead," said Northern Lehigh head coach Joe Tout. "We told our kid this is the most physical Northwestern team we've seen in years. We challenged our kids to be more physical and I thought they were tonight."While the Bulldogs sustained long drives, the Tigers (4-3) didn't string together more than two first downs on any possession other than their touchdown drive. They only managed 75 rushing yards on 28 carries."Our defense was outstanding," Tout said. "Our defensive line, our linebackers flew around. We shut down that run game. That one touchdown, that was on our offense because of the turnover."Northwestern got its only touchdown after a Northern Lehigh fumble. The Tigers went 45 yards in nine plays for a 7-0 lead 58 seconds into the second quarter.The Bulldogs answered with a 70-yard, nine-play drive capped by Matt Gill's one-yard touchdown run. Remaley carried the ball the first seven plays of that drive.After a Northwestern fumble, Northern Lehigh took over and was six yards from pay dirt before a fumble gave the ball back to the Tigers.The Bulldogs forced a punt and were trying to mount a late first-half drive when Tyler Bolton was intercepted by Greg Collopy."It was a tale of two halves," Tout said. "We had three turnovers in the first half. That's why it was a 7-7 game. Second half we didn't have the turnovers."The Bulldogs took over the game on their second possession of the second half. They put together a 62-yard, 13-play scoring drive that included 10 Remaley runs and ended with his two-yard touchdown that made it 13-7 with 2:10 left in the third quarter.After a Tiger three-and-out, their second in two second-half possessions, Northern Lehigh put together a 10-play drive. This one covered 58 yards and included nine Remaley runs, including a six-yard score."We got root canaled," said Northwestern head coach Bob Mitchell. "Especially in the second half. We came out in the second half, kicked off, we needed a three and out and we got a three and out. And we just turned around and gave the ball right back to them and from that point on it was the Remaley show."
