The 21st annual Slatington Lions Antique/Collectors Car Show was held Sunday at the Slatington Airport, 1000 Airport Lane.

Teddy Kistler, who is a chairperson of the event, called the car show a huge success with over 500 cars on the field; over 100 awards, which were made by PA Slatecraft, given out; a good turnout of vendors/crafters and spectators and a turnout of good weather."I want to thank all the non-Lion members who help to make it a success. And a big thank you to Roger Sell, owner of the airport," Kistler said.According to Kistler, when he started the event 21 years ago there were 75 cars in the show, which was held at Northern Lehigh High School, and it grew from there.The primary goal of Lions clubs is to help those with sight-related problems, but the Slatington Lions also donate to a lot of different organizations in the Northern Lehigh community. Last year they donated over $30,000.Kistler said that they're already planning next year's car show."Our biggest thing is we need help. We could always use more help and/or members," Kistler said.
