A Carbon County woman is facing charges of driving under the influence (DUI) and drug possession following a traffic stop about 2:23 a.m. Friday, July 5, along SR248 at State Road, Franklin Township.

State police at Lehighton said Amanda Parisi, 26, of Lehighton, was stopped for a traffic violation. During the stop she was found to be under the influence. Also, troopers found heroin in her possession. She was transported to the Palmerton hospital for a blood test.Charges are pending test results.
