John Provisiero, 18, 411 E. Kline Ave., Apt. 1, Lansford, faces charges from an incident which took place between April 13 and April 14. Provisiero is charged with statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, and corruption of minors (all felonies.) Bail was set at $100,000 straight and he was committed to prison.

Provisiero also faces charges from an incident which took place between April 1 and April 27. Charges were filed by Det./Sgt. Jack Soberick and Officer Joshua Tom. Provisiero is charged with aggravated indecent assault, statutory sexual assault, indecent assault, and corruption of minors. Bail was set at $100,000 cash.According to an affidavit of probable cause, here's what happened:Soberick was assigned to investigate reports of ongoing statutory sexual assaults in the borough involving Provisiero. One of the incidents allegedly took place overnight between April 13 into April 14. Soberick interviewed the victim, a 14-year-old girl, who gave both verbal and written statements. She said she was with Provisiero that night at a house in the borough, and that he persisted in trying to get her to have sex with him. She said she initially relented, but then told him to wait.However, Provisiero assaulted her.The resident of the house told police she saw the two together at the house, and that they had gone into a spare room on the third floor. The woman told police they were still in there when she fell asleep that night.Soberick interviewed Provisiero, who was told he was not in custody and was free to leave. Soberick advised him of his Miranda rights. Provisiero told Soberick he understood them and was willing to talk with police.Provisiero told police he knew the girl was 14, and admitted to having sexually assaulted her.Soberick is continuing to investigate other, possibly related incidents.He learned of another victim of statuatory sexual assault. Prior to Soberick interviewing the victim, Officer Joshua Tom interviewed Provisiero, who admitted to having sexual relations with the girl, also 14, repeatedly over a three-week period.Soberick interviewed the girl, who told him she was with Provisiero at his apartment, and that the two had had sexual relations five times in April.
