State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating two crashes on Saturday all on Schuylkill County roadways.

A three vehicle, rear-end type crash occurred about 12:28 p.m. along SR443 near Kraft Lane, in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Bradley A. Whalen, 24, of Schuylkill Haven, driving a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt, Hollie S. Miller, 20, of Friedensburg, driving a 2008 Ford Escape, and Kevin S. Sterner, 55, of Schuylkill Haven, operating a 1996 GMC Jimmy, were all westbound. Troopers said Sterner was stopped behind other vehicles when Whalen failed to see the other vehicles stopped. His vehicle struck the rear of Miller's pushing it into Sterner's.

Miller sustained a minor injury and was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center -S. Jackson St., Pottsville. No one else was injured. Troopers cited Whalen for careless driving.

A two vehicle crash was reported about 6:24 p.m. along SR61 at SR895, in Deer Lake Borough. Troopers said Brian D. Baver, 80, of Auburn, driving a 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 truck, attempted a left turn off 61 to westbound 895 and pulled into the path of a 2011 Kia driven by Sandra Kramer, 55, of Minersville, who was southbound.

Upon impact the Kia spun in a clockwise motion for a half-turn and came to rest against the guard rail. Troopers said Kramer swerved to avoid a collision but could not.

A passenger with Kramer, Susan M. Long, 47, of Pottsville, was injured but did not require immediate medical attention. There were no other injuries reported.

Troopers cited Baver for vehicle turning left.
