St. Jerome student's artwork gains exposure

Annette Ritzko, a St. Jerome Regional School (SJRS), Tamaqua, 8th grade student, was one of 23 winners in the country to be selected as part of the the annual Holy Childhood Association Christmas card art contest. Her work will be available on an electronic Christmas card and the original will be displayed in the National Basilica in Washington, DC. Annette is the daughter of Nick and Maria Ritzko of Coaldale. Ritzko, 12, also received a framed copy of her art work from Kim Zardet, the Diocesan Director of the Holy Childhood Association. Pictured with Ritzko, from left, are St. Jerome Regional School Reverend James Bechtel, Kim Zardet, SJRS mission moderator Mary Dakosty and principal Mary Ann Mansell.
