3 Lansford men face arson counts

Lansford police have arrested three borough residents and have charged them with arson and other criminal counts.

They are:Jeremy Schmick, 27, West Ridge Street - Arson, criminal conspiracy, two counts of criminal trespass, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and criminal mischief.Michael Zuber, 25, of East Ridge Street - Two counts of arson, criminal conspiracy, two counts of criminal trespass, and criminal mischief.Stephen "Steve" Walck Jr., 26, of West Ridge Street - Arson, two counts of criminal trespass, criminal conspiracy, and criminal mischief.Officer Chris Ondrus said all were arraigned before District Judge Joseph D. Homanko, of Weatherly, and committed to Carbon County prison in lieu of $50,000 cash bail.The charges stem from a suspicious fire which occurred at about 12:15 a.m. Saturday at the Lansford Fire Department's training grounds near the intersection of East Dock and East Front streets.No injuries were reported.Ondrus said preliminary hearings have been scheduled on June 22 before District Judge Casimir Kosciolek in Lansford.
