The Tuscarora Fire Company held an open house on Sunday, Oct. 4 as part of National Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 4-10). On display was the company's award winning 2008 KME Engine 27-17, which pumps 2,000 gallons of water per minute and has a 1,000 gallon tank. The Tuscarora F.C. KME recently took first place among pumpers at the Pennsylvania state Firemen's Convention at King of Prussia on Sept. 26. The pumper also placed first in a recentsix-county convention as well asat the Schuylkill County convention held in Tamaqua in August.
