Palmerton Area Junior and Senior High Schools will be offering their Holiday Concert this Thursday, Dec 10 at 7 p.m. in the Palmerton Area High School Auditorium.

This year's concert will begin with the High School Band and start off with the number, "Bobsled Run," "A Christmas Canon" followed by "A Celebration of Hanukkuh." After a medley including "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear," "The Coventry Carol," and "Ding Dong Merrily on High," a Flute trio consisting of Lydia Antony, Kalyn Lehr, and Danielle Norris will play. Next on the program will be "Believe" from the movie "Polar Express." Lastly, the traditional ending piece by the band will be "The Christmas Song" by Mel Torme.

The Junior High School Chorus will next take the stage and begin with the spirited "Nuttin' for Christmas." Liz Anthony, Domenica Stenger, and Olivia Eckroth will be featured in this piece. "Mistletoe and Holly" will follow.

This song will probably be most recognized as a tune performed by Frank Sinatra. "Home for Christmas" is an arrangement of two tunes by Mac Huff.

"I'll Be Home for Christmas" and "There's No Place Like Home for the Holidays" are the next two holiday favorites. "Carol of the Shepherd Boy" will be next on the program. "Let it Ring, Let it Swing, Let it Snow" is another medley of "Let it Snow," "It's a Marshmallow World" and "Frosty the Snowman" arranged by Mr. Huf and will be the last tune of the first half of the program.

After a 10 minute intermission, the High School Chorus will begin their portion of the concert.

"Gaudete" will begin the program and also feature Brittany Franya, Kevin Seemiller, Allyson Arndt, and Colleen Hunt. Up next will be the Spanish Carol, "Fum, Fum, Fum." "Christmas Star, Shine for Me" will feature Rebekah Ahner as the soloist. "See Amid the Winter's Snow" will feature Kalyn Lehr and Brianna Bush as soloists. "The Happiest Time of the Year" by Gene Grier and Lowell Everson will follow. From "The Muppets Christmas," the tune "It Feels Like Christmas" will feature Danielle Kutz, Frank 'J' Hall, Lydia Anthony, Olivia Haydtm Allyson Arndt, Kalyn Lehr, and Nick Bock. One of the all time favorite Christmas tunes is "White Christmas" and this version of it will feature Steph Kistler and William Heinick. This portion of the concert will end with "Unto You This Night" made famous by Garth Brooks and "Glory, Glory, Glory" by Kirby Shaw.

The Junior High Chorus will join the High School Chorus for the final numbers.

"The Little Drummer Boy" is first. A Duet entitled "Why Me Lord" will feature Danielle Kutz and Frank "J" Hall. "Do You Hear What I Hear" will follow the duet. "O Holy Night" will feature Kim Varano ( a 2010 District Chorus member) and the choruses will end the program with the traditional "Silent Night."
