Michael Kaspszyk, solicitor for Eldred Township told the board of supervisors that Bruce Hawk, owner of the former Weekend Warriors racetrack on Silver Spring Boulevard, was denied his application to reapply to the Commonwealth Court for appeal. Hawk contests the township's description of what is a racetrack, which he denies his property was used for. He has 30 days to appeal it to the Supreme Court.

Kaspszyk stated that as of Nov. 30, the township has not received a new letter of credit from Kuehner Field Estates. No building permits may be issued until a new letter of credit is received.

On Nov. 23, Eldred Township received an Alpine Rose updating letter. It stated that Richard Muller, owner of the property of the proposed Alpine Rose Motorsports track had a highway occupancy permit. The law has since undergone changes and he had to submit an application for a new permit. There were 40 comments that he had to address. He made changes, resubmitted his application and it has been returned with 21 comments.

Supervisor Clair Borger made a motion that the township give Supervisor/secretary Sharon Solt $100 to buy toys to place in the Toys For Tots container located in the reception area of the municipal building. It was approved. Borger also wants the community to know that anyone can drop off toy donations for the Toys For Tots drive.

Supervisor/secretary Solt said that the United States Census Bureau is still looking to hire people to take the census in Eldred Township. The job can be 10-40 hours a week at $10-14 an hour. A test will have to be taken first and as soon as it is scheduled, Solt will notify the public or you can call the office at 610-381-4252 during business hours.

Solt reported that the Appalachian Trail Zoning and conservation Workshop will be on Thursday, Dec. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Plainfield Twp. Vol. Fire Co., 6480 Sullivan Trail, Wind Gap.

Also, the Trails and Greenways Round Table will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Monroe County Conservation District office at 8050 Running Valley Road, Stroudsburg.
