Five Luzerne County residents were injured in a hit-and-run crash that occurred in Schuylkill County. State police at Frackville said the crash occurred along Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township, about 9 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1.

An adult male and a group of teenagers were cited in connection with an incident at 12 W. Broad St., Tamaqua, on Nov. 12.

The complainant contacted police at 11:57 p.m. to report that the group had managed to enter the secured building, go to the third floor and confronted her teenage daughter, attempting to assault the girl.

State police at Frackville reported another arrest was made in connection with the break-in of 48 camping trailers at a campground in Schuylkill County.

Troopers said James Robert Michael McCabe Jr., 19, of Ringtown, was arrested on Wendesday, Dec. 1, for his part in the entries that occurred at the Red Ridge Lake Campground, located at 61 Miller's Road in North Union Township.

A Tamaqua driver was involved in a crash in Walker Township. State police at Frackville said the accident occurred about 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1, along Clamtown Road, at the entrance to the American Premium Coal Company.

Troopers said Peter Bieniek, 42, was operating a 1998 Dodge Ram truck eastbound when he said a deer entered the road in front of him. He attempted to avoid the animal with his truck leaving the road on the left side and hitting a business sign for American Premium, then struck the entrance gate of the firm's property.

A Tamaqua man has been charged following an alleged assault on Nov. 20.

Gary Nureck, 305 W. Broad St., told police he and Joann Matalavage, same address, went to visit Matalavage's daughter on East Union Street that morning. As Nureck was sitting in a vehicle near the intersection of Union Street and Rolling Mill Avenue, at 1 a.m., he was approached by John Conahan, 32, of 22 E. Union St., Tamaqua. Conahan began striking the victim in the head and face area. Matalavage witnessed the incident.

Officers observed numerous injuries to Nureck's face, especially the eye area.

A Tamaqua man faces charges related to a hit and run accident that damaged a house on Nov. 27.

Officers were dispatched to 415 Nescopec St. at 6:45 p.m. when the homeowner called to report that someone had just struck the side of her home with a vehicle, a tan Chevrolet Blazer. She was familiar with the vehicle and its owner, Norman Paisley, 49, of 422 W. Rowe St., due to his employment as a bartender at the Keystone Hunt and Fish Club, located near her property.

Tire tracks were located next to the home and the white siding was damaged.

State police at Frackville are investigating an attempted theft by deception incident that was reported to them by a Schuylkill County resident.

Barbara Jean Kemery, of New Ringgold, reported receiving a check in the mail with instructions to cash it, keep $300, and send the remaining balance to an address in Philiippines.

Troopers said citizens are reminded to be wary of online scams.

Jim Thorpe police have reported the arrest of Natalie Sue Lupini, 22, of Bloomsburg, on charges of persistent disorderly conduct and public drunkenness as a result of an incident at 12:45 a.m. Nov. 24.

Police said Lupini was visibly upset and crying when she contacted an officer who was conducting a separate traffic stop. The woman told police she did not know where she was and that her boyfriend had left her. Police said the woman was "manifestly under the influence of alcohol."

Pocono Mountain Regional police reported on the following arrests made by officers.

Police reported the arrest of two individuals for an incident that occurred on June 20 at Joe's Kwik Mart in Pocono Summit.

In June officers were called to the mart for a report of a large amount of money stolen during the night shift. Through an investigation, police reviewed store surveillance cameras and interviewed store employees. Police learned the suspects were in the store and when a store employee went outside for a break the theft occurred.

Two area drivers, one from Tamaqua and the other from Palmerton, were involved in separate crashes in Lehigh County recently.

A crash occurred about 10:27 a.m. on Nov. 21 at the on-ramp to Interstate 78 at Cedar Crest Blvd., in Salisbury Township. Troopers said Jeffrey A. Rhodes, 41, of Palmerton, was operating a 2001 Ford Focus and merging from the ramp to go eastbound on 78. Troopers said Rhodes was driving too fast for conditions and struck a 2005 Jeep Cherokee driven by Ronald R. Frantz, 65, of Easton.
