Tamaqua softball posts win over Jim Thorpe

Tamaqua stayed in the thick of the Schuylkill League softball playoff picture by defeating Jim Thorpe on Tuesday.

The Blue Raiders currently hold the Division 1 wild-card spot and are one game behind division leader Pine Grove.In other action, Weatherly won in both baseball and softball, while the Northwestern boys track team gained a sweep in a tri-meet.SOFTBALLJim Thorpe-TamaquaJada Schellhammer led Tamaqua past Jim Thorpe in a Schuylkill League contest, 6-1.Schellhammer tossed a three-hitter and launched a solo homer in the sixth inning.
