The Lansford Neighborhood Community Watch has put out tips for residents to remain vigilant against crime in the borough.

The volunteer group meets monthly at borough hall. The next meeting is 6 p.m. Oct. 18.The watch reminds residents to call 911 if they learn of a theft, break-in, property damage, a drug deal or violence of any kind.Any other suspicious behavior can be reported to the Lansford Police Department's nonemergency phone number: 570-645-5844.Moving permits are required for anyone moving in or out of the borough, renter or owner. The cost is $15. Residents can call the borough office at 570-645-3900 to see if a permit has been issued.Property maintenance complaint forms are available at the borough office.The group is also planning to nominate captains for three crime watch areas in the borough at its October meeting.
