Boyfriend flees police, hides under child's bed

Lansford police have charged a Lansford Townhouse resident with trying to hide her boyfriend, who had been forbidden to be there. They found the man hiding under a sleeping child's bed.

Genevieve Snyder, 21, of 503 Lansford Court, was charged with disorderly conduct. The man she tried to hide, Timothy Morales, 22, of 110 E. Nesquehoning St., Easton, faces charges of flight to avoid apprehension, resisting arrest and criminal trespass.Morales is in Carbon County prison under $5,000 bail.According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by officer Joshua Tom, at about 10 p.m. April 16, he and officer Jeffrey Tanner received a call about a domestic dispute at 503 Lansford Court. Witnesses had seen Morales go into the apartment despite a written order from the Lansford Townhouses landlord that he was barred from the property. When they arrived, Tom heard male and female voices from inside the apartment. He told Tanner to go to the back door in case Morales tried to run. As Tom knocked on the front door, he heard Tanner yelling at someone to stop running away.Tanner told him via radio that Morales had tried to run out the back door. He yelled for him to stop, but Morales headed up to the second floor.Tom asked for more officers to help. Officers Todd Woodward from Summit Hill and Joseph David from Coaldale arrived.Tom continued to knock on the front door, which Snyder, who is Morales' girlfriend, refused to unlock.Snyder tried to stop officers and told them Morales was not there. She was very upset and told them she did not want them to wake her young son, who was asleep upstairs. After several minutes and with the help of other officers, Tom and Tanner were able to go up to the second floor to search for Morales. They found him under the child's bed. Morales gave himself up and was arrested. It was unclear as to why he was forbidden to be at the townhouse complex.
