Schuylkill commissioners on Wednesday accepted the retirement of social services aide Jean Holmberg, West Penn Township, effective Dec. 19.

Holmberg, who works for the Children and Youth Services agency, earns $13.08 an hourCommissioners also approved the retirement of Office of Senior Services clerical supervisor Cheryl Cuthie, Butler Township, effective Dec. 30. Cuthie earns $16.03 an hour.In other personnel moves, commissioners also approved the termination of OSS aging care manager Maura Durkin, Saint Clair, effective immediately. She earned $16.40 an hour.Commissioners also hired six part-time nurses' aide trainees for the county nursing home, Rest Haven, at $8.17 an hour: Jenna Ogden, Pottsville; Samantha Jalonski, Schuylkill Haven; Brittany Howard, Schuylkill Haven; Amanda Nastasi, Cressona; Darbi Mahute, Pottsville; Steve Martin Jr., Jim Thorpe; Marcelle McCabe, Pottsville; and John Anthony Wallauer, Ashland.They also hired Tabitha Schriner, Cressona, as a part-time certified nursing assistant at $12.44 an hour.Commissioners also learned of wage adjustments of three prison correctional officers, Brenton Eades, Pottsville; Robert Ward, Pottsville; and Dennis Nay, Hegins. Each will earn $25.35 an hour, effective Nov. 4.Also, Edward Dresch, Saint Clair, was hired as a judicial attendant at $9.95 an hour; and Megan Kane, Ashland, was appointed as an unpaid intern in the Adult Probation Department.Clerk typist Marie Dieter, North Manheim Township, and district justice assistant Denna Krammes, Deer Lake, each resigned their positions. Dieter, whose resignation is effective Jan. 16, earned $13.04 an hour; Krammes, whose resignation is effective Dec. 12, earned $19.16 an hour
