Monroe defendants waive hearings

Defendants scheduled for preliminary hearings before District Judge Colleen Mancuso last week opted to wait for formal hearings in Monroe County Court.

Christy Ann Spath, 40, of Allentown, waived a hearing on charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the combined influence of alcohol and a controlled substance, careless driving, failure to keep right, disregard of a traffic lane and following too closely. The charges were filed by Pennsylvania State Police trooper Donald Macrae following a Jan. 14 incident.Spath was released on $2,500 unsecured bail.Kyle Lee Titus, 18, of Effort, was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and driving without headlights following a Jan. 27 incident. The charges were filed by state trooper Matthew Borger.Titus was released on $2500 unsecured bail.Zachary Kenneth Turner, 19, of Kunkletown, waived a hearing on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges stem from a March 22 incident and were filed by state trooper Joseph Urban.Turner was released on $2,500 unsecured bail.
