Monthly soup socials are being held at Trinity United Church of Christ, 22 Lafayette St. The next outreach social will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. April 5. The event is part of Trinity's monthly "Feeding the Hungry" program.
The public is welcome to attend and share in the free soup, friendship and God's love. Those attending are reminded to use the lower parking lot entrance into Founder's Hall.
Democrats to meet
The Eastern Schuylkill Democrat Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. on March 24. The meeting will be held at the Hang Loose, 300 E. Broad St., Tamaqua.
The club meets the fourth Monday of every month, also at the Hang Loose.
New members are always welcome.
St. Luke's University Health Network is sponsoring a Diabetes Support Group. Monthly meetings will be held in the community room at the health network's Miners Hospital Campus in Coaldale.
Each month, a different diabetes relevant topic is explored. Topics are based on ways to improve blood sugar control and quality of life. Meetings are generally 45 minutes long and include a question-and-answer period.
This month's meeting will be held on March 25. Reservations are not required and there are no fees. For more information, call 570-645-8107.
Older and bolder
Emily Daly of AmeriHealth will be the guest speaker at the next meeting of the Salvation Army's Older and Bolder program. The meeting will be held March 26, at 10 a.m., at the Salvation Army, 105 W. Broad St., and will include a light luncheon.

Zion's Stone Church
The Rev. Michael Frost will officiate at the 9 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Zion's Stone Church in West Penn Township. Sunday school classes are held at 10 a.m.
A Bible study session is held from 10:30 a.m. to noon every Thursday.
St. John Lutheran
The Rev. Phyllis Wolford will officiate at the 9:15 a.m. worship service Sunday in St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church. Sunday school and Confirmation classes will meet at 10:30 a.m.
Next week's activities include: Wednesday, midweek Lenten services, noon at Bethany Congregational Church, 7 p.m. at Zion Lutheran; Thursday, angel choir rehearsal at 6 p.m., shepherd choir rehearses at 6:30 p.m., chancel choir rehearses at 7:30 p.m.
The bell choir will rehearse at 11:45 a.m. on March 23 and March 30.
SS. Peter and Paul
SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church will conduct Stations of the Cross at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays during Lent. An hour of prayer, recitation of the rosary and confessions will be held before stations, beginning at 6 p.m.
Choir rehearsal will be held Wednesdays after Stations.
The Sacrament of First Penance will be celebrated at 6 p.m. on March 25 in St. Jerome's Catholic Church.
