Pleasant Valley claims MVC tennis title

The Pleasant Valley girls came home with the team gold medal at the Mountain Valley Conference Tennis Tournament on Thursday. The Lady Bears defeated East Sroudsburg South and Stroudsburg 23-20.

GIRLS TENNISMVC ChampionshipThe Pleasant Valley girls' tennis team prevailed at the Mountain Valley Conference Tournament, defeating Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg South, 23-20. The Cavaliers and Mounties both totalled 20 points at the end of the day, while the Lady Bears managed to collect 23 to earn the gold.There were two doubles teams for Pleasant Valley that managed to win their division. Sarina Tufano and Paula Mieles won the number two doubles challenge, 8-6 over Megan Gallagher and Amanda Anglemeyer of Pocono Mountain East. Andrea Nale and Emily Borger took the number three doubles competition, 8-1 over Amanda Jackson and Janet Ro of East Stroudsburg South.Emily Thek took second at number two singles, while teammates Madison Olexson, and Mackenzie Caffrey managed third at number one and three singles, respectively.
