Improvements on Route 309 between Ben Titus Road/Fairview Street and Lofty Road will begin Monday.
PennDOT noted that road restrictions will be in place for the approximate $4 million project between Rush and Kline townships.
Those who travel on the stretch should expect long-term restrictions of the north and south lanes, and should allow extra time for traveling, PennDOT noted.
Work includes roadway milling, concrete patching, shoulder reconstruction, replacing center-median mountable curbing, paving, drainage upgrades and guide rail updates.
New Enterprise Stone & Lime Inc. of Bedford County is the general contractor on the $3,999,845 project, which is expected to be completed in November.
The section of Route 309 has an average daily traffic volume of 15,640 vehicles.
Updates will be provided when traffic pattern schedules change.
