The Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group (GLVWG) will hold its September meeting at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Palmer Branch of the Easton Area Public Library, 1 Weller Place, Palmer Township.
After the business program, there will be a new segment, Talent Tables, in which members with expertise in certain relevant areas (editing, illustration, creating book trailers, web design, and more) will be available to meet with other members in search of these services. For September, there will be tables devoted to craft (writing, editing, plotting, and so on); publishing/marketing; and the writing life.
In the morning program (11 a.m.), published author Phil Giunta will discuss how he writes, works, and connects the benefits of networking with others in the writing and publishing community. A Pennsylvania resident, Giunta holds a bachelor's degree in information systems from St. Joseph's University. His first novel, Testing the Prisoner, a paranormal mystery, was released in March 2010. His second book, also a paranormal mystery, By Your Side, was released in March. For more information, see www.philgiunta.com.
During the first part of the afternoon workshop (1:30 p.m.), Sandra Lee Schubert, coach and host of Wild Woman Radio Network, will present How to Maximize Your Message.
At 2:45 p.m., attendees will discover how writer Paddy Chayefsky created "Network" (1976 Best Picture Oscar winner) with its director and cast.
The morning program is free and open to the public, and the afternoon workshop is free for members. There is a fee for nonmembers. Registration is required for the afternoon workshop; for more information and to register: members, see http://glvwg.org/WorkshopMemberReg.htm#member registration; nonmembers, see http://glvwg.org/WorkshopNonMemberReg.htm.
