Two Schuylkill County drivers escaped injury in a two-vehicle crash that occurred about 5:50 p.m. on Aug. 7 along SR443 in North Union Township.

Troopers said Mario Bellizia, 40, of Zion Grove, was westbound approaching a tight left curve while Diane M. Zimmerman, 26, also of Zion Grove, was eastbound approaching a tight right curve, both approaching the intersection with Speice Rd.While negotiating the curve Bellizia became distracted and entered the opposing lane of travel. Zimmerman swerved to avoid a collision but could not. The front left of Bellizia's 2007 Ford F150 truck struck the front left of Zimmerman's 2007 Chrysler Sebring.Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Bellizia was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
