Cute and scary pets

The first Ross Township Halloween Pet Parade was held at the Ross Township Van Buskirk-Haney Park on Anchorage Road. There were nine entries, dressed up as bumble bees, lady bug, turtle, witches and more. There was a tie for Cutest, which went to Major, a wirehair terrier mix owned by Sharon Shayka; and Lulu, a ChiChuChu, owned by Mike Valentin; and the Scariest was Messa, an American Eskimo, owned by Sue Kurdo. "This was our first year and we hope to make it bigger next year," said Tina Drake, Ross Township supervisor vice chairman and chairman of the West End Park and Open Space Commission.
