Two Beltzville State Park Rangers examine the kayak which was involved in an accident along the Lehigh River near Bowmanstown late Thursday night. Two persons were fishing in the river when one of the two apparently struck an object and flipped the unit with the male being ejected. Firefighters from Bowmanstown, Parryville and Palmerton were dispatched to the scene along with the Palmerton ambulance and Lehighton paramedics. The injured fisherman was finally discovered in water just off the east bank about a half mile north of SR895. The victim was transported to the Palmerton hospital for treatment of what was reportedly minor injuries.
