Northwestern's girls clinched a Colonial League playoff berth, while Northern Lehigh earned a district spot in local scholastic action on Tuesday.

Bangor-Northwestern

The Lady Tigers will be making their first league playoff appearance since winning the title in 2007 after a 46-38 win over the Slaters.

Freshmen Sara Segan (16 points) and Sabrina Mertz (13 points) led the Tigers.

Trista Cunningham added 10 points for Northwestern (14-7, 10-5) while Bangor (16-5, 11-4) was led by Morgan McCollian's game high 17.

The win improves the Lady Bulldogs to 11-10 on the year.

Kelsey Follweiler led Northern Lehigh with a game-high 14 points. Christina Bastardi and Aimee Oertner added nine points apiece.

For Catasauqua, Katie Buczinski scored nine points.

Northern Lehigh also won the JV game, 27-16.

Weatherly outscored Moravian Academy 18-6 in the final quarter to rally to a 52-41 non-league victory.

Brett Stallone scored eight of his team-high 14 points in the fourth quarter, while also contributing five assists. Samson Walton (nine points, 10 rebounds) and Charlie Wallish (eight points, 10 rebounds) backed him up for the Wreckers (6-14).

For Moravian Academy, Luke Gutekunst scored a game-high 17 points in the loss.

In the JV game, Moravian Academy scored a 52-50 victory.

The Blue Bombers saw a halftime lead evaporate as the Green Knights outscored them by 16 points in the second half for a 72-58 Colonial League win.

Nick Pipher (42 points) had six of his seven treys on the night to finish the first half for the Green Knights (7-15, 6-10) with 23 points. He added 19 more in the second half, with 15 coming in the final eight minutes to halt any kind of comeback for the Bombers. Nick Oyer finished with 16 points.

Tyler Svetik had 13 and Cody Geist 12 for the Bombers (3-18, 1-14).

The Bombers also dropped the JV contest 43-39 despite 11 points from Nick Frey and 10 from Mark Quinn.
