Jim Thorpe man facing theft count

A Jim Thorpe man is facing a charge of retail theft following an incident that occurred on March 23,

Borough police were called to Bob's Market, 15 W. Sixth St., about 8:42 a.m. for a theft report. On scene officers were told that Gregory Andrew Macalush, 20, of 21 W. Third St., had taken two cans of soup from the store without paying for them.Police were also told the incident had been recorded on the store's surveillance system, which the officers later viewed.Macalush was later questioned and admitted to the theft. He was charged, which is a second offense. The value of the stolen items was $5.71.
