September 29, 1972 Dru Herman throws a touchdown pass on offense, and comes up with an interception and a fumble recovery on defense to help Jim Thorpe earn a 13-6 victory over Pocono Mountain. Herman recovers a fumble on the opening kickoff and it leads to his 29-yard scoring toss to Gene Binder. The Olympians, coached by Barry Hackenberg, extend the advantage on a nine-yard touchdown run by Mike Clewell.
