Carbon woman avoids trial, pleads guilty

A Carbon County woman scheduled to pick a jury on Monday in the county court on two pending criminal matters, instead entered a guilty plea.

Suzanne Marga Reinhardt, 46, who has no permanent address, pleaded guilty to one count each of persistent disoroderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia.She was arrested for the conduct charge on April 26 in the area fo the Mauch Chunk 5 & 10 store on Broadway, Jim Thorpe. Borough police responded to the area to a report of a woman with a sword and knife causing a disturbance.Upon arrival officers found Reinhardt with the sword and a 11-inch blade knife. She told officers she was trying to sell the knives.The drug charge stemmed from an incident on April 5 when borough police received a complaint of a woman prowling in the area of the Harry Packer Mansion. When police arrived the woman was gone but they later found Reinhardt, who fit the description provided, near the train station.While being taken into custody police found a marijuana pipe on her.President Judge Roger N. Nanovic accepted the pleas.On the drug charge he placed her on probation for a year and ordered she get both a drug and alcohol and mental health evaluations and follow any recommendations for treatment. On the conduct charge she was placed on probation for a year which runs consecutive to the first sentence.She was also ordered to pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation. She was given credit for 95 days spent in prison on the charges.
