One of two drivers involved in a crash that occurred about 4:25 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, along a Schuylkill County road, has been charged.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Stephen A. Crosley, 62, of Camp Hill, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu northbound on SR183 in Wayne Township. He attempted to make a left hand turn from the driving lane into the parking lot of the Summit View Restaurant and pulled into the path of a 2004 Dodge Dakota pickup truck operated by David J. Guzick, 22, of Pottsville, who was in the northbound passing lane.

Crosley sustained a minor injury while his wife, Ruthann, 60, and Guzick were not injured. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Troopers said Crosley was cited for causing the crash.

Troopers also reported investigating a one vehicle crash that occurred about 4 a.m. on Wednesday along SR25, a half-mile west of the Camp-A-While campground in Hegins Township. Troopers said Dakota Schley, 25, of Valley View, was driving a 2001 Ford Explorer westbound when he swerved to avoid a black bear that had entered the road. The Ford went onto the berm and struck a tree on the left side. After impact the Ford traveled along the berm a distance and then flipped over onto its roof coming to rest facing northwest.

Schley sustained a laceration to his hand, troopers said. Damages were severe to the Ford.
