Eagle Scout refurbishes snack stand

A local Boy Scout was honored at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor Ceremony July 31 at St. Paul's UCC, Indianland.

Michael Rehrig, of Lehigh Township, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout on April 19. He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 15 in Indianland.Rehrig began his scouting activities in 1999 as a Tiger Scout with Pack 201, Indianland, and earned the Cub Scout Arrow of Light before crossing over to Troop 15 in 2004.Rehrig's Eagle Scout Project was refurbishing the snack stand at Danielsville Park in Lehigh Township. The stand had not been used for almost 20 years and he wanted to make it usable for the community and the baseball teams that are using the fields.In addition to lots of cleaning and painting, he and several volunteers and businesses installed shelving, a portable counter, stainless steel counters, a refrigerator, new serving counter and door. A total of 131 hours were spent on his project.Rehrig would like to thank the following individuals and businesses for their contributions of time and supplies to this project. This fall, he will start his next project, as he continues his education at Bloomsburg University, pursuing a degree in Nursing.
