Woman charged after SH traffic stop

A Kulpmont woman was arrested by Summit Hill police on charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct after a traffic stop made by an officer at 4:05 a.m. July 30 in the 100 block of West White Street in that borough.

Police said Barbara Boylan, 55, was driving a 2000 Chrysler Sebring when she was stopped, after which time police learned through the Carbon County Communications Center there is an active warrant out for her arrest. Police did not provide the details of the warrant.

Police said when they tried to take her into custody, she began to yell and curse and resisted arrest by pulling away from the officer and dipping her body in an attempt to escape. After being taken into custody, she continued to scream obscenities at officers and refused to calm down, police said.
