Schuylkill County Court

Schuylkill County Judge Charles M. Miller handed down the following sentences:

Seth P. Hughes

, 26, Hazleton, was arrested by Rush Township Police officer Michael Weaver on Jan. 26, 2018, and charged with burglary, criminal trespass, resisting arrest, retail theft, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief, possession of a small amount and disorderly conduct.

In a negotiated plea, Hughes pleaded guilty to criminal trespass and was sentenced to time served to 23 months at Schuylkill County Prison. He will be on probation for 12 months on the retail theft and criminal mischief charges, and 30 days on probation on the possession charge.

The burglary, receiving stolen property and disorderly conduct charges were dropped. Hughes must pay $50 to the criminal justice enhancement act, $100 to the substance abuse education fund and submit a DNA sample, paying the $250 associated cost. With credit for 43 days served, Hughes was granted immediate parole. He must have no contact with his victims.

Eric K. Kuklinski

, 23, Freeland, was arrested by Tamaqua Police officer Michael Hobbs on July 3, 2017, and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of public drunkenness and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Kuklinski pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a controlled substance. He was sentenced to two to 12 months at Schuylkill County Prison and will be on probation for 12 months on count 2, possession of a controlled substance. The other charges were dropped. Kuklinski must submit a DNA sample and pay the associated $250 cost, $176 to Bethlehem Crime Lab, $50 to the CJEA and $100 to the SAEF.
