Northwestern, Pleasant Valley girls record victories

The Northwestern field hockey and Pleasant Valley girls soccer teams picked up on Friday.

FIELD HOCKEY

Palmerton-Northwestern

Lauren Schellhamer’s second half goal gave Northwestern a 1-0 Colonial League win over Palmerton.

Northwestern improves to 12-4-1 overall (9-4-1 CL), while Palmerton slips to 8-8 (7-7 CL).

So. Lehigh-No. Lehigh

Southern Lehigh blanked Northern Lehigh for a 3-0 Colonial League victory.

Reese finished with two goals for the Spartans.

Bulldogs’ keeper Kendall Heiney made 19 saves.

Northern Lehigh slides to 5-12 overall (4-10 CL).

Bangor-Pleasant Valley

Bangor got the best of Pleasant Valley for an 8-1 non-conference win.

Kaylee Holland led the Slaters with four goals, while Carly Amerman added two scores.

Heather Todaro posted the Bears’ lone goal, while Jill Donatelli was credited with the assist.

GIRLS SOCCER

Pleasant Valley-PM East

Two first half goals sparked Pleasant Valley to a 3-0 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory over Pocono Mountain East.

Aurora Cruci, Danielle DiMarco and Larissa Mulligan all netted scores for the Bears, while Teah Cardoza, Rylee Robinson and Cruci had assists.

Bears’ goalie Samantha Merklin finished with five saves.

Pleasant Valley improves to 12-3-2 overall (11-3-1 EPC), while PM East falls to 13-3-1 (11-3-1 EPC).

BOYS SOCCER

PM East- Pleasant Valley

Lukas Pino’s goal with just under seven minutes remaining lifted Pocono Mountain East to a 3-2 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory over Pleasant Valley.

Damen Janotti and Onious George had goals for Pleasant Valley.
