Effort cyclist seriously injured

A Monroe County motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash at 1:24 p.m. June 8 along Interstate 80 in East Stroudsburg.

State police at Stroudsburg said Justin G. Langdon, 23, of Effort, was driving a 2001 Yamaha cycle eastbound in the right lane with a GMC truck in the left lane. Langdon was changing lanes when he leaned over too far and struck the trailer the truck was pulling. This caused Langdon to lose control of the bike which then went under the trailer, sliding on its passenger side. Langdon was thrown backward off the bike as his helmet came off.

The bike struck the trailer and came to rest against a concrete barrier. Langdon came to rest in the middle of the road.

Langdon was flown by medical helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.
