A Palmerton driver escaped injury in a hit-and-run crash reported at 7:37 a.m. Sunday along Forest Inn Road in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

State police at Lehighton said Peter K. Smale, 59, was driving a 2004 Ford Ranger northbound and turning left into a driveway when his vehicle was struck by another vehicle being driven northbound. The other driver continued on Forest Inn Road.

Smale was not injured.

Troopers said the hit-and-run vehicle is believed to be a red Dodge Dakota.
