Deemer achieves Eagle Scout rank

Jordan Philip Atwood Deemer, of Troop 209, Towamensing Township, has achieved his Eagle Scout rank, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America.

Jordan attends Scouts at the Palmerton Rod & Gun Club in Palmerton, where on Dec. 7, he was honored at his Eagle Scout Court of Honor and celebrated by his troop and many family and friends.

Jordan is the son of Jennifer Heffner and Philip Deemer Jr. of the Easton area, and the grandson of Rebecca Grasley and great-grandson of Elaine Pursel, both of Nescopeck.

Jordan’s Eagle Scout project was an ambitious one and serves the community of Weissport at the St. Peter’s Community Resource Center, where he installed an entire kitchen into the rear of the old sanctuary area of that facility. It is now handicapped accessible, and serves many purposes and community events, benefiting many.

Jordan currently resides in the Easton area, having moved several times during his scouting career.

He began by attending Cub Scouts in Lehighton with Pack 82, and then joined and remained with Troop 209.

Jordan is a fine example of what a Boy Scout should be and has become a leader that his troop and his family depends on.
