Schuylkill County is seeking buyers for 16 used vehicles, "as is." The sealed bids must be received by the controller's office, in the courthouse at 401 N. Second St., Pottsville, PA 17901 by 3 p.m. June 2. The bids must include the model and four-digit number that is posted on the windshield of the vehicle; the bidder's complete name, address and telephone number; and a certified check equal to 10 percent of the bid, payable to the County of Schuylkill. The information and check must be submitted in sealed envelopes marked "Bids for AS IS vehicles."The check will be forfeited to the county if the successful bidder fails to complete the purchase.The bids will be opened and read aloud at the county commissioners' meeting at 10 a.m. June 4. The winning bids will be announced at the commissioners' June 18 meeting. The balance of the purchase price must be made by certified check within 10 days of the announcement.
