"An Evening with Joe Ehrmann", who was a defensive lineman, originally drafted as the 10th pick in the first round of the 1973 NFL Draft out of Syracuse University to the Baltimore Colts, will be held on Wednesday, May 7 at 7 p.m. at Palmerton Area High School.
Ehrmann, who is currently a minister and motivational speaker, will talk about his concepts of transformational leadership, coaching, team-building and mentoring, all key features in his published book, "InSideOut coaching: How Sports Can Transform Lives.The Syracuse University graduate played with Baltimore for eight years, and was selected to the Pro Bowl in 1978. He finished his NFL career with the Detroit Lions as part of their vaunted defensive line in the early 1980s. He was an NFL defensive tackle from 1973 through 1982. He then played in the USFL for the Chicago Blitz, Arizona Wranglers and Orlando Renegades.He was named to the Syracuse All-Century Football Team.He was featured on the cover of Parade Magazine naming him "The Most Important Coach in America" because of his work to transform the culture of sports.Joe has been married for over 30 years to his wife Paula. They have four children, Ali, Esther, Barney and Joey.There is no admission charge for the engagement.
