St. John Neumann Regional hosts art show

Colorful works of art recently adorned the walls of St. John Neumann Regional School.

The impressive images were all a part of the school's annual Art Show held recently at its Palmerton campus.Art instructor Patti Passick said the theme of this year's event was "Classic Children's Books."Fifth-grader Alexander Kokosky constructed a lizard that resembles a scorpion.Alexander said he used clay, two different kinds of paint and some glue."I like the hand I made on his tail," Alexander said.Fellow classmate Charlotte Vinson explained her art project in which she created a native bird.Charlotte said she used clay and paint to help keep it together, and also used bobby pins to help the head stay on."It's like a roadrunner thing," Charlotte said. "I learned how you shape the head and the body."Fellow fifth-grader Caitlyn Kratzer painted a snowman."I kind of like this pattern, and the paint that I used," Caitlyn said. "I chose purple and blue because they're my favorite colors."Caitlyn credited Passick with helping her through the project."I'm just terrible at art when I do it myself, but when she helps me, because she's so good at it, it helps me get better and progress."
