Kidder accepts chairman's resignation

Robert Lengle has resigned the Kidder Township board of supervisors effective May 20.

Lengle, who served as chairman from 2014 to date, is moving from the township and relocating to Florida. The board accepted Lengle's resignation Thursday and appointed past township Supervisor Ray Gluck to replace Lengle.Gluck was not available for comment at the meeting due to pressing family business.Vice Chairman Thomas Bradley was appointed to replace Lengle as chairman.Supervisor Larry Polansky will take over as vice chairman.Lengle also served as township treasurer. A motion to appoint a new treasurer was tabled until the June meeting.During public comment, resident Chuck Weber informed the board that he had just become aware that PennEast is in the process of notifying landowners who will actually be affected by the pipeline project. Letters have been sent to some of the affected landowners. The letter included an invitation to attend a meeting to be held on June 3 at either noon or in the evening.Weber reminded people submitting comments or intervening on the project that the application for the permit will be submitted to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission by the end of June. The right to intervene will end once the submission is made. The subject of the 911 addressing was discussed by the township manager, Lisa Klem.According to Klem, everything is in Harrisburg and ready to go. The board passed a motion to advertise the change in the ordinance to release the addresses. The only exception to the current list will be to exclude Golden Oaks from the proposed changes."We have changed our addresses four times in the past. The last time we were told that the changes were 911 compliant and we have the reflective signs and we have mail delivery and we have no problems. We respectfully request that the township not make additional changes within Golden Oaks," the request said.
